Table for One in Kolkata!

Why should it be a big deal? Why should people make a sorry face when one says, "I am dining all by myself?" Or why would the waiter give you suspicious looks when he learns that you're looking for a TABLE FOR ONE! Well, it actually strikes them in bold and capital letters. But who really cares?

I think, in times when life forces you for a coupled existence, turning a rebel and enjoying all by yourself isn't a bad idea. Trust me, I make no bones in admitting that I have this mixed personality, at times I just love mingling with people around, handing out with my crazy set of friends or chilling with family but then I do have this side which demands a lot of MY TIME. During this phase, I even stub the gatecrashers who in their on sweet way are trying to help me with their company. Sadly, they don't understand that I am single by choice.

Anyhow, talking about Kolkata-I think it's a city which is no rush. Absolutely, no rush-I must reiterate. It is nowhere guilty of being slow-paced, but that does come as a jerk especially when you're a visitor from the fast-paced Capital city. I have just no issues with it as I quite like it for a change.  After all,  the madness of Delhi sometimes doesn't leave much scope for relaxation.

Any work trip comes with some set of responsibilities but keeping the restrictions in mind, I still make it a point to taste the local flavor and fervor. This place has some of the best sweets to offer and I am rather big on desserts. Mishti Dahi and Sandesh sure can't be given a miss. Also, take my advice- forget the stress of looking for company, instead head straight to Kwality's in Park Street and concentrate on the likes of Brain Masala, Saag Meat and Butter Naan. Hey! when you're in Park Street- a quick visit to Flury's and  Trincas  is suggested as well. I don't know why but there is something about this street which takes you back to the British era.

The buffet at 6 Ballygunge Place has it all to keep you busy. When in Kolkata who would mind a date with Bong food?

My job requires me to spend considerable amount of time at the golf clubs and thankfully both Tollygunge and Royal Calcutta Golf Club are rich in history and food! The pan cakes and prawns in the former are divine!

Street and Dhaba food must be experimented with but check with locals before you choose on a place to dig-in.

And when thinking of going the mall way- try Italian delicacies at Hush or the widespread offerings of Sarson at South City Mall.

So, ladies in company of good food, we sure shouldn't be complaining ;)

Shopping can't get any simpler!

Well, girls like shopping without a reason or an occasion most of the times. The reason is of course the pure joy derived on slipping into some flashy wear. We are always out of something, be it accessories, clothes or perfumes. You get something, only to realize that the something other is missing in your wardrobe. However, in hectic times that we live in, hitting the malls is always not possible. And that's the reason that e-commerce websites are being used widely. The latest one which is coming handy in a big way is jabong.com. It offers some great brands at competitive prices. What's more is that the service is real good. Unlike other ones, I got my order delivered in less than a day of booking it. With so much on offer, I am looking forward to many more buys on jabong.com. For all those who want to enjoy the bliss of easy shopping, this website is worth experiencing!

A Galore of Gifts!

Well, people enjoy festivals for different reasons. Some look forward to the late night card sessions, whereas others take them as an excuse to splurge. But I am a girl so I am allowed to shop every now and then, right? I actually love these festivals simply because I get to buy stuff not only for myself but for my loved ones too. Gifting takes a whole new meaning at this time of the year. However, I don't want you to spend a bomb! Instead one should opt for items that are cost-effective and come handy too. I lately came across few pieces which sure had the traditional touch but also looked gorgeous at the sametime. So, don't shy from taking a look and for those who want to get their hands on them-simply drop in a comment and I shall share the required contact details.

Come, Let’s Conquer the World!

There is much to say but I choose my people
As with rest, it’s a nay!
I dream big but I seldom say,
For I let my deeds carve out my way!

I am not jealous, I am not shy
As I only polish my own way!
For I know that both you and me shall conquer the world
In our own unique ways!

I dance, I read, I shop and I sleep
Then, I pray and work as hard as I can,
Leaving much room to celebrate
But people still choose to humiliate.
All, I’ll do is polish my own way
For I know that both you and me shall conquer the world
In our own unique ways!

SPOTLIGHT: VLCC Anti-Tan Skin Lightening Face Wash

The scorching heat is anything but pleasant. The sun does make one sweat profusely while also taking our skin texture for a toss! Well, the tan too at this time of the year seems quite unwanted as it makes our skin looking rather dull and drab.

In the hunt to address my woe of tanned skin, I went on a look-out for a product that would provide some respite to my complexion that would have otherwise taken the colour of charcoal. Though most of the beauty products promise to make us snow-white fair and bless us with cotton soft skin. But these promises are seldom kept! Any which ways, I was only looking for something that would simply restore my natural skin tone.

However, a product which did the trick for me was VLCC Anti-Tan Skin Lightening Face Wash. As I could feel the difference in the texture and colour of my skin, I took to it more regularly i.e. twice daily.

The face wash does leave one’s skin refreshed after cleansing it off impurities and tan.
Enriched with Mulberry and Kiwi fruit extracts, this beauty essential provides an even skin tone and deep cleanses the pores.

This product impresses for delivering sans any false claim. So, take to it as a damage control tool to fight the dreadful tan!
